2009 NW Natural Street of Dreams: It’s real, it’s different and it’s coming August 1

34th annual show features luxury condos, sustainability and the Pearl

The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland (HBA) is no stranger to innovation. And this year's NW Natural Street of Dreams, the first ever urban edition of the show, is no exception.

The 2009 show, which runs August 1-30 in the city’s exciting Pearl District, will highlight nine upscale penthouses in four buildings, allowing guests to experience coveted views of the city while envisioning the urban lifestyle. That experience will continue on the ground where attendees can explore the cultural flavor of the area with their ticket, The Pearl Pass, which includes:

  • More than $6,500 in discounts at more than 80 Pearl-area restaurants, spas, breweries, boutiques and other businesses
  • Transportation discounts such as free streetcar rides throughout August, free shuttle service on the weekend, and discounts at select parking sites
  • Free admission to the Idea Gallery, a 25-vendor mini-tradeshow showcasing cutting edge products and services in the home building industry
  • Admission to each building on the tour once, allowing guests to see all the condos in a single trip or to spread them out over several visits

“This year’s NW Natural Street of Dreams will provide consumers with more value and incentive to attend than ever before,” said HBA President Tom Skaar. “The homes are fantastic, the site is one-of-a-kind and the Pearl Pass discounts pay back the cost of a ticket a hundred times over.”

Tickets

Tickets are on sale now at www.streetofdreamspdx.com. Prices are $15 (peak times), $13 (non-peak times), and $10 for children 10 and under. Showcased sustainable living

The featured condominium homes vary in price from $1 to $2.7 million, in size from 1750 to 3300 sq. ft., and in theme from eastern infusion to modern with a classic twist. All contain sustainable elements and several are LEED certified, reflecting the HBA’s dedication to green building and desire to spotlight earth-friendly practices in all its shows.
"NW Natural applauds the HBA's innovative approach to this year’s event," said Dave Williams, vice president of utility services for NW Natural. "It is a unique opportunity for the public to envision the latest in sustainable urban living."
