Primary Election Results

HBA’s endorsed candidates fared well on May 20. The following candidates won their races outright, which precludes the need for a run-off in the November General Election:

Sam Adams - Portland Mayor

Nick Fish - Portland City Commissioner

Randy Leonard - Portland City Commissioner

Lynn Peterson - Clackamas County Chair

Martha Schrader- Clackamas County Commissioner

Roy Rogers - Washington County Commissioner

With four people in her county commission race, Leslie Lewis in Yamhill County did not receive over 50% of the vote. She was, however, the top vote getter and will run against Chris Bledsoe in November.

Industry Vote 2008

In 2008, over 80 local officials in the Portland metro area - mayors, city councilors, and county commissioners -will be up for election. These are people who make crucial decisions on issues that affect your business such as business taxes, development fees, and the availability of land. The only way our industry can ensure that we have a voice in these decisions is to actively support and elect pro-business and pro-housing candidates.
